Overview
Sequence in BOM is an optional set up for your bills of material. If you have distinct steps or sequences in which you build your BOM product, you can define them as sequences. A sequence is tied to an operation which you would have defined before creating a sequence.
Create a new sequence
Inside a BOM definition ( from the Manufacturing menu, Edit BOM, Find the BOM to edit), you can create sequences for your BOM build. A sequence has a number (which specifies the sequence order in the build) and an operation.
A sequence can also be assigned to a Work Center. This is to specify the work related to the sequence is to be performed as a particular Work Center. Read more about Work Center here.
Any material items , labor resource, or machine resource can be assigned to a sequence. Use this to track resources consumed for each sequence in your manufacturing process.
Please note usage of sequence is optional, if you do not define sequence for BOM, then all material items and resources are consumed in unspecified orders.
Remove item, resources from sequence
If an item or resource is not going to be part of any sequence and you assigned them to a sequence by mistake. You can edit the item and set operation sequence to blank. The item will appear under " No Operation Sequence Assigned" in the BOM Item listing.
