[VA-9475] - Allow customer deposit account to go negative and clean up tool
- Through our Shopify integration, we often run into errors when the deposit account of the customer bill would go into negative balance (it is going into having a debit balance where it would normally have a credit balance). Versa will now allow this to happen so the transaction can be imported.
- Versa has added a new setting to Set Up> Feature Settings> Customers>Customer Deposit Balance Can Be Negative. Tooltip "Customer deposit balance is normally positive with a credit balance. Allow it to go negative." This setting would be off for current-versa firms. But default to true for new firms.
- In addition to this Versa has also provided a tool for users to clean up deposit balances on customers and to reset them to zero. This is typically done at the end of the year. Versa will create a draft transaction that resets customers' deposit balances to zero.
- For this Versa has added a menu item under GL>New GL entry> 'Clean Up Customer Deposit Balance'. This menu item is only available to users with the permission 'GL Posting' On this page.
- Under this the user will be asked to enter a date and choose a GL account to offset the Customer Deposit balance with.
- This tool will identify customers with remaining deposit balances but no active and current open sales orders. Versa will find customers that have a deposit balance but has no sales order that is not historical and the sales order status is one of 'Empty', 'Partially Shipped', 'On Hold', or 'Ready'.
- Versa will create a draft transaction that is dated in the user's entry date and set all identified customers' deposit balances to zero following the rules below:
1. If the deposit balance has a positive balance (a credit balance), then create a draft transaction line that debits the deposit account and credits the offset GL account.
2. If the deposit balance has a negative balance (a debit balance), then create a draft transaction line that credits the deposit account and debits the offset GL account.
3. Once this draft transaction is created, we will redirect the user to view the newly created draft transaction and the user can post it themselves.
[VA-9499] - Add dimension settings to eBay integrations
- Versa has added new settings to eBay similar to Shopify settings to apply dimension to orders, customers, and invoices for eBay integration.
[VA-9517] - Store package weight for kit
- In Versa we allow user to specify how kit items are to be put into shipment packages and ship via default package.
- Now Versa will allow user to specify the default height, width, depth and weight of each packages at the bottom of the kit edit page.
- The Edit Kit Page will show rows of text boxes that allow user to enter height, width, depth and weight for each default package specified. If there are 3 packages, then versa will show 3 rows of text fields.
- Versa has also added a button to save the package dimension and height and it will have the product id to reference back to the kit parent product.
- Such dimension and weight will be used when an order containing one unit of the kit is shipped, we will default the weight , dimension of new shipment packages when user clicks on the ship via default package button.
[VA-9542] - Add a new setting to invoices to hide the amount field
- Versa has quantity, cost, amount fields for invoice item and it often cause confusion with users as they only want either quantity, cost or amount be entered.
- User will enter a number for all 3 and Versa provides a message to leave amount blank.
- For this Versa has added a new setting to Setup>Feature Settings>Invoices to show the amount field. When setting is on, the amount field is shown but not with an asterisk to mark it as required.
