You can define any number measurement units needed to support your operations.
Measurement Units, which are sometimes referred to as Units-of-Measure or UOM, are created as follows:
- Go to User View / Products / Units-of-Measure.
- Click the "Add Measurement Unit" button.
- Complete the three required fields
- Click the "Create Measurement Unit" button.
Unit Name: The common abbreviation of the measurement unit, such as kg for kilogram.
Description: The description of the unit, such as pallet.
Precision: The resolution with which you wish to measure when receiving, consuming or selling items measured in this UOM. For instance if you generally buy in kg, but you use it in your operations by the gram, then an appropriate precision would be 0.001. So, you would be able to buy inventory in kg but then measure out or sell, say, 1.235 kg of the inventory.
