To set up Fedex integration, you would first need to obtain a set of API credentials from your Fedex account. First you must log into the Fedex developer center: http://www.fedex.com/us/developer/web-services/index.html
On the left menu click the FedEx Web Services link. This is in a nested menu, so you will need to click on the Move to Production link.
On the form that appears, you will need to fill out the FedEx registration form before you can get your FedEx Meter Number. There are a few pages you would need to fill out. Once you complete the registration, you would get an email with necessary information. Now you are ready to set up Fedex in Versa.
Click on setup in the main menu, then click on shipping carrier. Choose to create a new one by selecting Fedex as the carrier. You would be asked to provide the Meter Number, Account Number, API key, API Password as provided in the email sent by Fedex.
In Versa, we can add the shipping charge for a shipment automatically as a new line in invoice and orders, choose the service to use. You must have already defined a Service in the Products menu. The service should be set up with a category of Sold Services.
You can optionally choose to apply a surcharge to any rate you receive from Fedex, enter the surcharge as a percentage.
If you have multiple Fedex accounts, you can choose to associate one account with a Facility, then as you ship orders from the different facilities, the associated Fedex account would be used.
If a Fedex account is no longer active, you can turn if off by making it inactive.
