The Inventory Profile ranks parts by their recorded inventory value in the selected entity. An inventory lead can use it to decide which parts deserve a closer count or valuation review, while finance can investigate unexpected values. The report is a starting point for that decision. It is not a physical count or a map of stock at each facility.
Open the report
Select the entity you want to review, then open Products > Product/Inventory > View Inventory Profile. This page requires Inventory Control Full Access. The menu link may also appear to a user with Inventory Control Read Only, but that permission does not grant access to the report. If the page does not open, ask your administrator to check your access rather than changing inventory records to make the report appear.
The profile draws on the entity's part-linked inventory accounting activity. It has no date or facility selector. Keep that scope in mind when comparing its values with a warehouse count or a report for one location.
Read the value ranking
- Start with Part / Description and Inventory Value. Parts are listed from highest to lowest recorded value. The Total at the bottom provides the value used for the percentage columns.
- Read % as the part's share of the total. Cumulative % is the running share after that part is included.
- Use Class as a quick grouping of that cumulative share. A is below 80%, B is from 80% to below 95%, and C is 95% or more. The row that crosses a threshold takes the next class. This is a value grouping, not an automatic count schedule or purchasing rule.
- Move through the on-screen pages as needed. Choose Print for a PDF of the full profile or Download as CSV to review it outside Versa. Record when you generated the export because the page has no historical as-of date option.
Turn the report into a review decision
The inventory lead can identify high-value parts that warrant a count or a closer look at receipts, shipments, and adjustments. Give the warehouse the part and the facility to inspect; the profile itself does not identify a Bin Location or prove how many units are physically present. If a value appears unexpected, finance should compare the part's inventory record with its accounting activity before approving a correction. Viewing or exporting the profile does not change stock or post an entry.
For the physical count and correction process, see How to count stock and resolve a quantity difference. For a broader view of inventory records, see Inventory Management: Overview.
If the result is missing or unexpected
Check the selected entity and your permission first. A part with no nonzero part-linked accounting value may not appear in the ranking. If you expected a different value, review the part's receipts, shipments, adjustments, and related accounting entries with finance. Use the part's inventory detail for quantity and facility questions; the profile does not answer those questions.
