A production planner records unavailable time for a resource, such as a person or machine, after confirming an absence or shutdown. A dated entry covers a particular period; default unavailable days cover a recurring weekly pattern. The entry informs planning but does not move assigned work by itself.
Before you start
You need BOM permission and your company needs the Timesheet feature. Confirm the affected resource and dates with its owner. Open Production > Manufacturing Resources > View All Resources in the correct entity.
Record the schedule change
- Switch to card view, then open the resource's Availability dropdown. This link is not in table view.
- For one period, choose Unavailable Schedule, enter From Date and To Date, then select Add Schedule. For a weekly pattern, choose Default Days Unavailable, select weekdays, then select Add Schedule.
- Check that the correct dates appear for the intended resource. A resource has one default weekday set; delete it and add a replacement to change that pattern.
- Review assigned jobs for those dates and decide whether to move work, use another resource, or change a customer commitment. If someone else plans production, tell them which work is affected. Check the updated plan after any change.
If you don't see what you expect
- Resource or Availability missing: Check the selected entity, resource record, card view, BOM permission, and the Timesheet feature.
- Schedule corrected but a job is still moved: Review that job separately; removing unavailable time does not restore a changed assignment.
