Multi-Facility Sales Order Fulfillment

Sales staff use multiple ship-from facilities when separate warehouses must supply one customer order. Agree on delivery timing with the customer and warehouse teams before assigning locations. Selecting a facility does not move or reserve stock.

Before you start

• Access: The user needs Sales and the company needs Multiple Warehouses. A Firm Admin enables Allow Multiple Facilities Be Selected For Sales Orders under Settings > Setup > Feature Settings > Sales Orders for each entity. This setting is unavailable with Subscription Services.
• Allocation: A secondary facility puts the order on that facility's shipping list but does not allocate its stock. Header allocation uses only Primary Ship From. To split allocation, enable Allow Assignment of Facility and Allocation by Facility at Order Item and assign quantities on the lines.

Plan and ship the split

1. Confirm the items, quantities, destination, and whether separate parcels or arrival dates work for the customer.
2. Check physical and recorded stock separately at each proposed facility. Resolve a shortage by transfer, purchase, production, or a revised promise.
3. On the sales order, select Primary Ship From and any Secondary Ship From facilities that will ship. When line-level allocation is enabled, assign each line's quantity to its supplying facility.
4. Give each warehouse its portion of the order. Each team picks and packs its own stock, then records a shipment from its selected facility for the quantity it actually dispatches.
5. Review all shipment records and the remaining open order quantity. Tell the customer what is coming separately, and coordinate billing with the invoicing team.

If you don't see what you expect

• A facility is missing: Check the selected entity, allowed facilities, Multiple Warehouses, and its entity setting.
• A secondary facility has no allocation: This is expected until line-level allocation is enabled and quantities are assigned.
• Goods need to move first: Use a stock transfer and confirm the destination receipt before shipping from that facility.
