Warehouse staff put accepted goods away after the purchase receipt is posted and the goods are ready for a bin. Physically place and check the goods, then record their bin in Versa so pickers can find them. A bin entry does not move goods on the floor.
Before you start
Your company needs Warehouse Management. Receiving access opens Receiving > Bin Locations > Stock Inventory; Inventory Control Full Access is also required to submit stocking. Select the destination with Stock Into Facility.
Stock the received quantity
- Review pending receipt lines. Confirm product, unit, accepted quantity, and physical location. Keep rejected or uninspected goods out of a saleable bin.
- Move accepted goods to the agreed bin and check its label and suitability.
- Choose lines with Select To Stock and enter each Qty to Stock.
- Enter the shared Enter Bin Location for the selected lines. Check spelling carefully: a new name creates a new Bin Location.
- Select Stock Selected.
- Compare bin contents or product inventory detail with the physical goods. Resolve partial put-away before telling picking or production that the stock is ready.
If you don't see what you expect
- Stock Inventory missing: Check Warehouse Management, access, and selected entity.
- Receipt line missing: Check its facility, whether it was marked to stock, on-hand quantity, and whether it was already stocked.
With Show Bin Location for Selection on Receiving Page, a bin can be chosen while receiving. If your company turns on Bin Location Auto-Stocking, a product already assigned to one bin location is stocked there automatically. Confirm where the goods were physically placed in either case. A receipt does not reserve them for a sales order or work order.
