Warehouse staff record a bin transfer when they physically move stock between bins in the same facility. Recording the move keeps the bin record aligned with the location used by the next picker or stock counter.
Choose the quantity form for a product that does not use lot tracking when you need to move part of its stock. Choose Scan Bin Transfer when the full quantity found by a lot number, part number, or product barcode should move together.
Before you start
- Access: Your company needs Warehouse Management. You need Inventory Control Full Access to use these transfer pages. A user with Inventory Control Read Only may see the menu but cannot open the transfer page.
- Where: Select the correct entity and facility, then open Products > Warehouse Management. Choose Bin Location Transfer or Scan Bin Transfer.
Identify the physical product, source bin, destination bin, and quantity before recording the move. For lot-controlled stock, identify the exact lot. Bin Location Transfer does not record a lot. Use Scan Bin Transfer with the lot number for a lot-controlled move. If the scan matches several locations, stop and ask the inventory owner to resolve the ambiguity.
Move a chosen quantity
- Open Products > Warehouse Management > Bin Location Transfer.
- In Product, type at least three characters and choose the matching stocked product. The search lists products with stock in a bin in the active facility.
- Enter the Quantity to move. In Transfer From, choose the physical source bin. The list shows its Max-Qty for this product.
- Choose Transfer To. Check that it differs from the source and is the place where the stock will actually be put away.
- Move the goods, then select Transfer to record the move. Confirm Transfered Successfully. Check the destination bin before telling picking or production that the stock is available there.
The form shows a browser alert if the entered quantity exceeds the source's displayed Max-Qty. This is a screen check, so verify the actual stock with the inventory owner when the quantity is uncertain.
Move stock by scanning its label
- Open Products > Warehouse Management > Scan Bin Transfer. In Bin label, scan or type the lot number, part number, or product barcode on the stock, then press Enter. The scan works only when the label identifies one stock balance. A product or part label can match several lots even in one bin.
- Review the returned product, source, quantity, and lot. The scan flow prepares the full quantity shown. If a lot-controlled scan matches several locations, stop and ask the inventory owner to identify the exact lot and source.
- In Move to, type, select, or scan a destination in the active facility.
- Press Enter or choose Move bin. Confirm Moved to [destination]. Scan the next bin. Inspect Recent moves if you need to check the recorded result.
Print label prints a product label after a successful lookup. Place the label on the correct physical stock after confirming the move. Clear resets the form for another scan.
When the move is complete
The warehouse worker should place the goods in the destination before the transaction is treated as a reliable location record. Let the next picker, production operator, or counter know about a changed location when work is already assigned. A transfer changes only where stock is recorded. It does not correct a count.

If you don't see what you expect
- Transfer menu is missing: Ask an administrator to check Warehouse Management and your inventory permission.
- Access denied appears after selecting a transfer: Ask an administrator to grant Inventory Control Full Access. Read Only access can show the menu without granting the transfer action.
- Product or source bin is missing: Check the active facility, the selected product, and whether stock is recorded in the source bin.
- Scan finds no stock or several matches: Check the lot number, part number, or product barcode and active facility. If a lot-controlled lookup is ambiguous, stop and ask the inventory owner to identify the exact lot and source.
- Move is refused: Check the destination, available quantity, and whether the source and destination are different.
