You can create a product in Versa and then publish the product as a new product in Shopify.
If the product is a parent, and it have multiple children, the product will be created as a product with many variants in Shopify. The children in Versa would be the variants for this new product in Shopify.
If the product is a child of a parent product, and the parent product is already created in Shopify, this new product will be added as a new variant to the existing product in Shopify.
If the product is a standalone product with no children or parent, it is created as a product with just one variant in Shopify. Each product in Shopify has a minimum of one variant
When you synchronize Shopify product data with Versa, Versa would remember the variant options (color, size etc) used in your store and when creating products, you can use option 1, option 2 and option 3 fields to specify the variant options to be set in Shopify.
When a new product is published to Shopify, here are the mapping of the fields between Versa and Shopify.
There is a setting in Tools, integration settings that affects how the product title is created in Shopify. The setting is 'Get published product title from' with the setting to be either product name or part stocking description.
When an inventoried product is published to Shopify, Track quantity setting for the product is always on.
Images are pushed to be product images if present in Versa.
