Power BI Reports let organizations display configured Power BI reports alongside Versa reporting. Use them when a team needs a shared view of trends across periods or business areas and has someone responsible for the report's definitions and access.
The BI team builds and maintains the report. Business owners confirm what each measure means and how it should be used. A chart can prompt a decision, but a discrepancy must be checked against the underlying Versa records and the report's refresh context.
Who can use Power BI Reports?
Your administrator must enable the Power BI Reports firm feature and configure the connection for the appropriate entity. Access to the resulting Power BI workspace, report, or dashboard is managed through your organization’s Power BI access controls.
Prepare the connection
- Confirm the business questions, entity scope, and report owners before sharing data with Power BI.
- Ask the Versa administrator to enable the firm feature and configure the Power BI connection.
- Ask the Power BI administrator to grant the intended users access to the workspace and published reports.
- Validate a small set of report totals against the corresponding Versa records before relying on a new dashboard.
Before sharing a report broadly, agree on its owner, the selected entity and date range, the meaning of important measures, and how current the data needs to be. Have finance or the relevant operating team sign off on a few known examples. The administrator's connection makes a report available; it does not establish that a new measure matches your business definition.
Open and review a report
- Open the configured Power BI report or dashboard widget made available to your role.
- Check the entity, filters, reporting period, and available refresh information before comparing the result with a Versa report.
- Ask the report owner to explain an unexpected figure and trace it to the corresponding Versa business documents.
- Record the business decision or correction with the team responsible for the underlying process.
Use Power BI alongside Versa
- Use Versa business documents when a dashboard total needs investigation or correction.
- Keep the dashboard’s entity, date range, and refresh context clear to reviewers.
- Agree who owns a dashboard and how refresh or data questions should be handled before distributing it broadly.
If a correction is made in Versa, check the Power BI report again after its next configured refresh. The report's displayed values may lag behind current transactions, depending on your organization's data setup.
If you cannot see expected Power BI data
- Confirm that Power BI Reports is enabled for the firm and configured for the correct entity.
- Confirm that you have access to the intended Power BI workspace or report.
- Check the dashboard filters, data-refresh information, and entity scope before comparing it with Versa.
- Ask the report owner to investigate a persistent difference using the underlying Versa documents.
